Michael Jackson CD's a Great Way to Remember His Genius

By Melody Peterson

The world was plunged into shock, when it lost its greatest ever entertainer. It will become one of those moments that people recall with the phrase, "Where were you when Michael Jackson died?" The loss felt by so many millions of fans has been just one of the driving forces behind the high numbers in which Michael Jackson cd's have been flying off the shelves of music stores worldwide.

Intrigue still surrounds the private life of the best entertainer the world has been fortunate to create; however, it is for his music and the passion he managed to articulate through his songs that will be his true legacy.

It is interesting how public feeling towards his music has not actually changed that much however, with most top ten posting singles coming from the Off the Wall, Thriller and Bad albums.

As Michael Jackson cd's continued to sell out, extra orders were placed with distributors in response to the high demand. Even with demand not being able to be completely fulfilled, the King of Pop's most popular albums such as; "Thriller", "Off The Wall" and "Bad", also made it to number one in a host of countries.

It wasn't just in CD format that records were broken however. In this ever digital age, Jackson reached the top of the Apple iTunes download charts in the US, and Britain, Europe, Australia, Canada and New Zealand simultaneously, suggests a younger generation of buyers are equally eager to purchase the star's music.

Whilst Jackson's music in all formats continues to sell well, the public preference does seem to be for Michael Jackson cd's. Whether this is due to the age of those most likely to buying his music, or simply to own a tangible memento from the King of Pop is unclear. However, it is with grim irony that the turnover in sales is what the star and his team had planned when announcing his "This Is It" tour.

Whilst the records broken now are only from his back catalog, it will surely only be a matter of time before his currently unreleased materials start topping the charts. As AEG scrabble to contain their losses from the cancellation of the "This Is It" tour, we can expect something by Christmas of 2009 at the very latest.

The rehearsal sessions for his UK comeback are already going to press, whilst it is also already known that Jackson cut over 40 unreleased songs. These are certain to be released. It is also rumored that a lot more material exists; so completely new Michael Jackson cd's will continue to be seen for many years to come.
